Delhi 24 hour rainfall its is the highest in the month of May

The capital had recorded 60 mm precipitation in a 24-hour time frame on May 24 of every 1976," a Kuldeep Srivastava, the head of India Meteorological Department's provincial guaging Center said. 


The precipitation in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, northern Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday was a consequence of association between the remainder of cyclonic tempest Tauktae and a western aggravation, the IMD said.

The unremitting downpours brought the most extreme temperature down to 23.8 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung on Wednesday. The base temperature on Thursday settled at 19.3 degrees Celsius, seven indents beneath ordinary. 


"Safdarjung recorded a greatest temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. This is the most reduced greatest temperature since 1951," Srivastava said. 


In the middle, a low of 24.8 degrees Celsius was recorded on May 13 1982, he said. As indicated by the IMD, Delhi's greatest temperature on Wednesday was not exactly that of Srinagar (25.8 degrees Celsius) and Dharamshala (27.2 degrees Celsius) up in the north.
